When a friend showed me how to create jewelry by weaving beads onto a fishing line, I knew immediately that this was something I wanted to pursue. Since that first lesson, I have spent many hours practicing and experimenting on different bead weaving techniques. I am always looking to create new and different designs that employ the newest techniques and styles.
I begin the process by creating a bead soup of color and texture. As I sift through the beads, I attempt to find the interplay of color, pattern and texture that will evoke a pleasing and elegant appearance to the final piece. I focus primarily on natural stones, crystals and glass seed beads. Each bead is threaded one by one to create the different patterns of the piece. Though extremely intricate, my jewelry is flexible and light, yet strong and structurally sound.
I aim to make jewelry that is pleasant to the touch and delightful to wear. I want the person who selects my jewelry to feel she is wearing something special.
